Biographical Information

"A graduate of the Almaty Abai State University, Adil Jalilov gained a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) scholarship to study for a Ph.D. at the University of Dortmund, in the Institute of German Language and Literature. He was the Faculty of International Relations lecturer at the Kazakh-German University in Almaty. Between 1998 and 2004 he worked at the "Panorama" newspaper, published a number of articles in the Kazakhstani and foreign medias. He was the Chief Editor of the "Kursiv" newspaper, and worked as the Managing Director for «PR-Management». In 2004, he was among the founders of “MediaNet”, the International Center for Journalism and headed it till 2009. He is also one of the founders of Media School, opened in 2005 in association with “MediaNet”, and a trainer at the Media School. Adil Jalilov is the Kazakhstani representative and editor for the online magazine "Oasis" (the project of the Center for Journalism in Extreme Situations within the Russian Union of Journalists). Since July 2009 he has been the Chairman of the Media Alliance of Kazakhstan, uniting 11 media organizations in the country; a trainer and consultant working with texts, and media relations, etc."[1]
