Adam Lury

"Adam has spent the last thirty years weaving several different but interrelated strands of interest together. He began his career in advertising and in 1987 co-founded Howell Henry Chaldecott and Lury. The agency broke new ground in advertising and media strategy and execution. HHCL was named Campaign magazine’s ‘Agency of the Decade’ in 1999. Throughout the late ‘90’s Adam also built up a management consultancy practice that operated independently of the agency. He worked for three years with Lord Brown just after he became CEO of BP. Other clients included Mike Harris (First Direct) of First Direct and Barbara Cassani of Go.
"He has worked as an independent political advisor to Tony Blair and his team on the articulation of the New Labour ‘Project’ before and during the 1997 election, subsequently worked with Tessa Jowell at the Dept of Health and has advised on a more informal basis since then. He continues his management consultancy practice with an increased emphasis on the third sector both in the UK and abroad. He one of the 50 founding members of the European Council on Foreign Relations, a pan European think tank that launched in November 2007 and is advising its CEO Mark Leonard. Adam is a trustee of the Princes' Youth Business International. He mentors entrepreneurs at the start up phase both informally and formally through such organisations as Set Squared in Bath." [1]
