2-Acetylpyridine is a colorless liquid flavoring additive that yellows on exposure to air. It occurs in red beans, coffee. potato chips, cocoa, roasted peanuts. It is said to have a "tobacco-like aroma." Specific doses over specific periods caused enlarged spleens and livers in rats. [1]
