The U.S. Geological Survey reported in 2010 that TTK owned and operated five mines with an annual production capacity over over 2 million tonnes a year of run-of-mine coal.[1]

The government wishes to privatize TTK but miners are resisting. [2]

Coal mines

The USGS identifies the TTK mines and their 2010 production capacity as being;[1]

  • Amasra mine at Amasra in Bartin province with an annual capacity of 300,000 tonnes. The mine is also operated by Armutcuk Taskomuru Isletme Muessesesi, a TTK subsidiary;
