Lori Roman is the Executive Director of ALEC.   Formerly Mrs. Roman served as the Chief of Staff of the Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives at the U.S. Department of Education where she was responsible for strategic planning and management of resources to achieve the goals set forth in the President’s Management Agenda.  Mrs. Roman came to the U.S. Department of Education to serve as Director of School Choice. Subsequent to this role, she held the position of Senior Advisor on Family Educational Rights in the Office of Innovation and Improvement at the Department. Her diverse career has also included work in television, public policy, and the automotive industry. Mrs. Roman is a veteran of public policy debate. An accomplished speaker and writer, she has been featured in various radio and television outlets, as well as magazines and newspapers. Her editorials have appeared in numerous publications, including the Washington Times and Crain's Business.  Mrs. Roman holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration and a Master's of Science in Administration.

Duane Parde is President and Chief Operating Officer of the National Taxpayers Union, a co-founder of the Phoenix Strategies consulting firm, and the former Executive Director of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). [1] [2]

Parde was Executive Director of ALEC from December 1996 to January 2006.[1] He was replaced in early 2006 by the new Executive Director, Lori Roman.[3]
