Robert Fisk

Robert Fisk is a prominent British columnist. Born in Maidstone, Kent, and educated at Trinity College, Dublin, Robert Fisk, a correspondent first for The Times of London, now works for The Independent of London.

He has lived in Beirut for more than 25 years and, during the unstable years was one of the last Western journalists to remain there, where he twice avoided abduction. He covered the US-Iraq wars as an unembedded journalist based in Baghdad, and is currently writing a 700 page account of the 2003 war and its aftermath (due June 2005).
