Claire Fox, also known as Claire Foster, is the director of the Institute of Ideas (IoI) and a leading thinker in the LM group. According to its website, she established the Institute of Ideas "to create a public space where ideas can be contested without constraint".
Fox was previously co-publisher of LM magazine (formerly Living Marxism). According to her staff profile on the IoI webpage she "has a particular interest in education and social issues such as crime and social exclusion". Most of her articles for Living Marxism were on the subject of education.
"Claire is a panelist on BBC Radio 4's The Moral Maze and is regularly invited to comment on developments in culture, education and the media on TV and radio. She writes regularly for national newspapers and a range of specialist journals. She has a monthly column in the MJ (municipal journal). Claire previously worked as a mental health social worker and as a lecturer in English literature," the profile states.
Sister of Fiona Fox.
