Hi Kd7one. Welcome to SourceWatch. If you have any queries about editing feel free to drop me a line or to Conor Kenny who handles Congresspedia. (Or you can post a note to our talk page, accessed by clicking the discussion tab) Two points about your recent additions re gun control bills.
First, we require key points to be referenced. In the case of your changes we want readers to be able to follow a link to see that those memebers did in fact co-sponsor the cited bill. (See http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=SourceWatch:References)
The two relevant bills you have menbtioned on various pages are
- H.R.1022 Assault Weapons Ban and Law Enforcement Protection Act of 2007 http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d110:HR01022:
- H.R. 1312 Assault Weapons Ban and Law Enforcement Protection Act of 2005 http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d109:h.r.01312:
Second, you have added the bills under a sub-head of "Oath of Office Violations". Obviously you take it as self evident that supporters of gun control are breaching their oath of office but that is clearly an unsupported opinion that would be contested. It seems far more appropriate to add those links under a neutral sub-head such as 'Support for Gun Control' or the like.
When I get a chance, I'll change the sub-heads but would appreciate it if you could add the correct titles and bill reference links. With thanks --Bob Burton 18:48, 31 March 2007 (EDT)
