User talk:C141nav
Hello, and welcome to SourceWatch.
Thank you for starting an article on the Galen Institute.
I'm writing to make sure you're aware of important SourceWatch policies. We require all information to be referenced -- see SourceWatch:References. The Galen article currently lacks references.
In addition, it looks like the Galen article is mostly a cut and paste from text on their website. While SourceWatch articles should include information from the profiled group itself, articles should be written in news style and not contain large chunks of text from other sources -- see SourceWatch:Contributing.
Feel free to ask SourceWatch editor Bob Burton or myself if you have questions.

Website policies
Hello again,
Please avoid copying and pasting large blocks of text to SourceWatch pages, and please reference all information that you add to SourceWatch. I have just moved the text from the PoliticalMavens.com and Sam Adams Alliance articles to their respective talk pages for this reason.
More our website policies can be found by clicking the "help" link on the main navigation bar, on the left sidebar. Please especially note the SourceWatch:References and SourceWatch:Contributing pages.
Thank you for your help.

SW: Please stop copying and pasting website texts
I just moved the text from the Coalition for Property Rights to its associated talk page, because once again it was a direct copy and paste, apparently from the group's website.
Once again, I am asking you to please stop doing this and follow SourceWatch policies, linked above. Summarizing from sources and providing occasional quotes from the website is fine. Copying and pasting large blocks of text from any source is not.
We would like to have you contribute to SourceWatch, but please do so in a way that honors website policies. Thank you.

Re Copying material from Ballotpedia
Hi C141nav, re the Steve Bing article -- just adding live urls into the reference links is not really the same as doing the proper referencing. Please read Help:References before adding further material.
I also noted that the material you added to the Bing page was a cut and paste from the Ballotpedia site. While that is OK under their wiki licensing, such material should always be attributed to the original source. Also, as a general rule, we don't duplicate material that already exists on the web unless there is a good reason to do so. Occasionally we will do this where it seems highly likely that SourceWatch editors will expand on the initial material. I have left the Bing material on the site for the moment but please avoid just copying and pasting material from other sites into SourceWatch.--Bob Burton 21:20, 11 August 2009 (EDT)
