Hi Binarybits, I notice that the Cato Institute page is the only page you have edited and have generally been supportive of the institute. It may be that you are in some way associated with Cato, in which case I would draw your attention to our policy relating to groups they are they are affiliated with. Thanks for pointing out the policy. As you surmised, I do have connections to the Institute: I'm a former employee of Cato and am currently an non-staff adjunct scholar, which means that I occasionally do work for them but am not on staff. Previous versions of the Cato article had a lot of information that was extremely out of date, if not completely wrong. I think the changes I made in the last couple of days make the article more current and more accurately representative of the institute's work. But please do change or delete anything you think swings the article unfairly in a pro-Cato direction. Hi Binarybits. A couple of points:

• I reverted your deletion of the quote from the McConnell article on the Mark McKinnon page as you were changing a quote from a cited source. I also think your note that the basis of the deletion was that it was "outdated material" was going way too far. If we were going to use your standard that any material from 2004 or earlier could be removed because it was "oudated" (ie the Kerry windsurfing ad mention), then we'd be deleting a lot of material. There was also no need to add the fact that McKinnon worked on the McCain campaign in 2008 as it was already mentioned earlier on the page.

• I noticed that in an earlier edit you added the simple url as the source. It is better for all of us if we added the full reference rather than just the url See Help:references.
