Ted Nace is a freelance writer and activist. In former incarnations he worked as a community organizer (Dakota Resource Council), computer magazine writer and columnist (PC World, Macworld, Publish), computer book author (LaserJet Unlimited, Desktop Publishing Skills, Ventura Tips and Tricks), and computer book publisher (Peachpit Press). He is the author of Gangs of America: The Rise of Corporate Power and the Disabling of Democracy (Berrett-Koehler, 2003, 2005) and Climate Hope: On the Front Lines of the Fight Against Coal (CoalSwarm, 2010). Currently he spends most of his time working on the CoalSwarm.org wiki and writing about coal on the Grist blog.
