Edit note 1

Hi Scotty,

Once again, if you have something specific to contribute, fine. However, please discontinue leaving rude and nonspecific criticisms on articles you don't like and/or disagree with.

In the case of Animal testing, it is in fact, very well referenced. "Medical Journals" may or may not have specific information regarding this subject, particularly since this article is partially a critique of medicine. Thanks again for your interest in SW.

Hi Scotty,

I removed

"However Peta's founder Ingrid Newkirk once said "Even if animal research resulted in a cure for AIDS, we'd be against it". [1]"

because it was not actually included in the show. I believe this was also pretty well covered by the previous statement:

"PETA is against all forms of medical testing involving animals - regardless of the potential benefits to human beings..." Penn & Teller: Bullshit!" Bull! PETA, Season 2, Episode 1

Since this article is about Penn and Teller, it is really enough to stay focused on what was actually in an episode. PETA is actually very clear and concise about their views on vivisection as a danger to human health. If you are still confused, you may visit the SW PETA article or their website. Like other health issues, "AIDS" is covered in animal testing or the AIDS industry, with the same basic complaints of inefficacy, health dangers and profit perspective.

Hi Scotty:

"If I were to put in information on the link between PETA and ALF would you delete it? I looked in the history and it seems you've deleted it before so I want to know if you'd just delete it again or let it stayScotty 18:19, 24 March 2010 (UTC)".

Some PETA issues (like their relationship with ALF) are included in Richard Berman cares about animals: clients exposed. There is a link to this article on both PETA's and ALF's page. (Under Anti-PETA disinformation campaigns for PETA and SW articles for ALF.) There is only so much room in one article.

The ALF article also has an external link for I. Newkirk's book about ALF.

FYI, we don't accept refs from known front groups like CCF or others. Some of those are covered in Conservatives target the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

Once again, I suggest you thoroughly read articles, SW resources and links, before you jump to conclusions, accusations, etc. The information may be included and/or explained. You have taken up a good deal of my time today and on previous occasions, by citing and disputing articles you have obviously not read, on subjects you are obviously unfamiliar with. Thanks for your interest in SW.

"You still didn't answer my question of whether or not you'll delete PETA's ties to the ALF if I included it in the PETA article (not an article it links to but in the actual article)."
"Also why is it OK to use animal rights groups as sources yet it's not OK to use groups that have an axe to grind against animal rights groups."

Scotty 23:07, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

Hi Scotty,

The section on ALF is in another article and is actually linked to a lot more articles than PETA is. It covers this and similar issues. The PETA article is already a little over recommended length at 33 kb.

Front groups do not have an "axe to grind". They attack and conduct disinformation campaigns because that is what their clients pay them to do. They could care less about animal rights or any other issue for that matter. Front groups, PR, industry-funded organizations and under reported issues, are actually the main focus of SW, unlike other kinds of wiki's.
