Biographical Information

"Mr Mboweni is a former Minister of Labour in the Republic of South Africa from 1994 to 1998, as well as the eighth Governor of the South African Reserve Bank from 1999 to 2009, a Chancellor of the University of the North from 2002 to 2005, and one of the World Economic Forum's Global Leaders of Tomorrow.

"Mr Mboweni is the independent non-executive chairman of AngloGold Ashanti Limited, the non-executive chairman of Nampak Limited, and an international advisor to Goldman Sachs International. He is a founder member of Mboweni Brothers Investment Holdings. He is also chairman of the fund raising committee of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital and a trustee and member of the finance committee of the Thabo Mbeki Foundation." [1]
