Third Wave "is a feminist, activist foundation that works nationally to support young women and transgender youth ages 15 to 30. Through strategic grantmaking, leadership development, and philanthropic advocacy, we support groups and individuals working towards gender, racial, economic, and social justice." [1]
"In 1996, our founders Catherine Gund, Dawn Martin, Amy Richards, and Rebecca Walker created the Third Wave Foundation to build the next wave of the feminist movement. They knew that moving money into the hands of young women was the best way to ensure our future and the power and potential of our movement." [2]
