Terry Jackman

Terry Jackman was appointed as a non-executive director of Sunland Group in 2004 and he is presently the Chairman. He is also a chairman of Tourism Queensland and a director of Prime Television. In 2004, the Australian Financial Review reported the following:

"Between 1976 and 1985 Mr Jackman was managing director of Hoyts Theatres. After exiting Hoyts he was involved in marketing Paul Hogan's first Crocodile Dundee film and was an investor in the movie. In 1989 he established Pacific Cinemas Pty Ltd, which has interests in five complexes in Sydney, the Gold Coast, Brisbane, and the south-western Brisbane suburb of Logan. Pacific Cinemas is solely owned by Mr Jackman's family and is now the largest privately held cinema group in the country. Mr Jackman was also chairman of the Sea World Property Trust until its controversial 2002 joint takeover by Warner Bros and Village Roadshow. Recently he was the chairman of listed management rights company BreakFree until May last year when he resigned because of a perceived conflict of interest with his role heading up Tourism Queensland.

Sunland has also been previously connected with BreakFree after forging an agreement in July to jointly establish a resort management company for a five-star unit chain. The deal collapsed at the start of this year.

Last week Sunland upgraded its full-year profit forecast to now exceed $52 million.
