Technoserve
TechnoServe "is a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization that was founded in 1968 by Connecticut businessman Ed Bullard." Their website adds that "TechnoServe, at its core, is about growth. We help grow businesses and industries in the developing world. These growing enterprises generate more jobs, more income and thus more opportunities for poor people." [1]
In 2003 Aziz Choudry wrote that the TechnoServe representative for the World Agricultural Forum, Oren Whyche-Shaw, is "a former African Development Bank official, former USAID Regional Business Development Advisor, and Former Vice President of International Corporate Finance for Citibank. TechnoServe's donors include American Express, BP Amoco, Chevron, Chubb, ExxonMobil, JP Morgan Chase Federation, Microsoft, Mobil, Pfizer, Shell, as well as Cargill, Monsanto and Philip Morris, who are all on its Business Leadership Council. The USDA, USAID, World Bank and IDB are also donors." [2]
