The following was originally posted to the NY1 SourceWatch page:

According to the website of CeeLite, a Pennsylvania-based company which says it is the first "to manufacture and market commercially-viable Light Emitting Capacitor (LEC) technology and Flatline Inverter," NY1 aired one of its VNRs. The VNR aired on March 8, 2006, according to the site. [1]

In addition to being listed as a video news release on the CeeLite website, the NY1 segment is also identified as a VNR on the i-associates.net website. [2]

However, on December 19, 2006, NY1 general manager Steve Paulus emailed SourceWatch editor Bob Burton, stating: "The CeeLite website is incorrect. The story (you should watch it) was shot entirely by NY1 Technology reporter Adam Balkin at a light bulb symposium in Manhattan. He didn t use any handout video. All of the interviews were conducted at the symposium and all of the b-roll was shot at the same time. I called the PR person at Ceelite (Gabrielle Santulli) and left a message asking that they clarify the clip on the website to indicate that it ISN T a VNR."

As of December 20, 2006, the CeeLite website no longer identified the segment as a VNR. [3]
