McClendon's fellow Swift Boat Veterans for Truth funder and lifelong friend is oilman T. Boone Pickens. McClendon has filmed commercials praising T. Boone's PickensPlan as forward-thinking and necessary to "help rid us of our addiction to foreign oil". One wonders if McClendon's cheerleading has any correlation to the heavy emphasis placed on the role of natural gas in Mr. Pickens' energy "solution".
