Tea Party Express is a 501(c)(4) organization operating out of Sacramento, CA. Largely funded by the political action committee Our Country Deserves Better, the "Tea Party Express" began as a PR stunt in the form of a caravan of buses touring national Tea Party rallies in 2009. In addition to operating bus tours, the group also promotes conservative political candidates and runs campaigns to defund the Affordable Care Act.[1]
In 2012 the organization received a donation of $600,000[2] from Freedom Partners, a behind-the-scenes organization that has been called the "secret bank" of the Koch Brothers.[3]
