"Coalition" is a manipulative term

The term "coalition of the willing" and its abbreviation "coalition" seem to have successfully achieved permanence. The US will always be able to haul along at least one poor dependent country to form such a "coalition" seems fair to assume that coalition regimes and coalition police forces and coalition intelligence agencies can thus be considered as a global group.

Is that fair? As countries drop out of "the Coalition" that exists at any given time in this perpetual war, presumably US influence on their regimes, police and intelligence agencies can be presumed to be less, and as they come in, they are presumably doing so because they feel they can gain, or are afraid to lose for not participating, and in either case will cooperate fully with US "laws".

This may be "anticipating" but since the term "coalition forces" is already in use to refer to US forces or at best US/UK forces, I see no reason to assume that any other word, e.g. "Allies", "Free World", "NATO", etc., will catch on.
