Talk:Institute for the Study of Conflict

The Institute for the Study of Conflict (ISC) was an educational charity set up by Professor Leonard Schapiro and Brian Crozier.

It produced over a hundred reports and an annual survey examining low intensity conflicts worldwide. It was successful in drawing contributions from a range of distinguished writers from academia, the ministries and journalism. Its Special Reports on New Dimensions of Security in Europe which considered the emerging terrorism threat and Conflict in Television which highlighted the difficulties od reporting terrorism, were very well received by the media.

Brian Crozier served as its Director from 1970 to 1980 whereupon he was succeeded by Michael Goodwin.

Crozier helped set up a Washington-based Institute for the Study of Conflict in 1975.

Despite supposedly closing down in 1990, the ISC still functions today under the name of the Research Institute for the Study of Conflict and Terrorism (RISCT).
