(8/13) Sardinian government still say they want to revive the project even though EON has confirmed finally it is frozen. Platts reports Sardian Industry minister saying "Liori said that the region would now evaluate an alternative coal plant proposal by China Environmental Holding, with the option of going back to the original plan agreed with E.ON, despite the company's decision to freeze the project" (5/13) On May 14, 2013 E.on shelved plans to built Fiume Santo due to market conditions (Platts). (6/11)not entered construction at the moment. It seems that E.On isn’t very interested in this project anymore, even though the Ministry for the Environment approved the EIA with some prescriptions. It has to be said that the regional government is pushing on E.On to take the project forward. Ministry of Economic Development on October 14 authorized construction (10/10). Environment ministry gives its approval for this new coal unit at established generation site. The ministry of economic development now needs to give its approval, seen as a formality, as the final consenting step (04/10). E.ON filed an application in January 2006. The company applied seeking the permission of the VIA Commission (The National Environmental Impact Assessment Commission) before starting the replacement process. On 4 December, 2008 it received a favourable environmental impact assessment (03/10)
