I removed this paragraph:

Supporters admire him as a forceful and reliable advocate for liberalism, whose personal and political skills enable him to achieve some gains even in an era of conservative control of the Senate; however, some Democrats see him as being too ready to compromise with Republican legislators. His critics on the right charge that he is stuck in a "big-government" ideology.

I didn't see such attempts at positioning on the pages for other prominent members of Congress. Such broad characterizations require a level of generality that can lead to trouble: blandness, lack of nuance, or irresolvable arguments about fairness.

But maybe I'm wrong, in which case the next person can plug the text back in. Davidjoho
