Talk:America Coming Together
Relocated the following statement from head of America Coming Together article because it sounds more like a campaign statement than an informative piece of information. If, in fact, it turns out to be a slogan for ACT, will relocate back to article and identify as such. 12/6/03 05:35 (EST) AI
- It's time to fight back against the extremist Bush agenda. It's time for America Coming Together (ACT).
The preceding statement is part of the opening statements at the header of the ACT web site. It is not the organization's slogan, therefore, I feel that it is more appropriate to leave it here in TALK. AI

AI I did a major edit on the materials posted to the page to condense -- there were two references I couldn't get top work -- I wanted to include the full references:
- http://reuters.com/financeNewsArticle.jhtml?type=usFundsNews&storyID=3248397 - think I hit block cookies and then couldn't get back to it (wonlt bore you with what I tried to undo)
- http://www.13abc.com/index.cfm?Article=8887&SecName=28&Level=1&SubID=0&Itm=&SideID=&IsItm=www.13abc.com - seems like this link has lapsed -- it gets to their front page but a search turns up nothing -- so maybe they have a strict cutoff date for archive material.
Maybe you can have better luck. Cheers --bob
They both appear to be fully expired links to news articles without public archive. --Maynard
Ditto ... the waybackmachine comes up empty! .. AI
The darn site claims [1] "In 2000, the Presidency was decided by razor thin margins in 17 states -- 17 states that swayed elections and set the issue agenda. This is still a 50-50 nation, just as it was in 2000. Once again, these 17 states will decide the election and frame the issue debate for races at every level. Our Plan is to win every one of those battleground states in 2004." but I couldn't find anywhere on the site which states they were interested in. So I inquired by email. Here's the response:
- The battleground state are: Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Washington
