Its Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station in Arizona, the largest nuclear plant in the U.S., came under scrutiny by the Arizona Corporation Nuclear Regulatory Commission in 2005 when operational problems began to cause prolonged outages. "They have had a problem with human performance, and in properly identifying problems and finding resolution" over the past few years, said Nuclear Regulatory Commission (ACC)spokesman Victor Dricks, referring to APS. While Dricks said the NRC may put Palo Verde on extra watch, the state agency that regulates all plant is not considered a danger to public safety.<ref name="seekalpha">[http://seekingalpha.com/article/20935-pinnacle-west-the-peak-of-the-energy utilities in Arizona-pyramid Pinnacle West: The Peak of the Energy Pyramid], SeekingAlpha.com, By Ted Allrich, posted on: November 20, 2006</ref>
