==History==
Born in 1949, Lindsay grew up in Newcastle and then Turramurra, on Sydney’s upper North Shore. He attended high school at Asquith Boys' High and studied at the University of Sydney, Sydney Teachers' College and Macquarie University. He was a mathematics teacher in Sydney before establishing the [[Centre for Independent Studies]] in 1976.
