"Peter Luff has served his Worcestershire constituents for over two decades. He was a scrupulously non-partisan Chair of two Select Committees and has also served as a Parliamentary Private Secretary (in three departments). Parliamentary Under Secretary of State and a Whip. He is Co-Chair of the Speakers' Advisory Committee on the 2015 Anniversaries. He is a long-standing campaigner for British engineering, with an emphasis on the need for more young people to train as engineers and scientists. He supports numerous charitable organisations in his constituency.

"Peter was first elected as MP for Worcester in 1992 and then for the new Mid Worcestershire seat in 1997. He lives in the county with his wife, Julia. Their children were brought up in Worcestershire and went to local schools but both have now flown the nest.

"Julia is Peter's secretary, working from his office in the county and from the House of Commons. She is always available on this local number: 01905 763952. She also makes appointments for his regular advice surgeries in Evesham and Droitwich Spa.

"He was educated at Windsor Grammar School and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, where he read Economics. He worked from 1977 to 1980 for the late Lord Walker who was then MP for Worcester. He then went on to be head of private office to the former Prime Minister, the late Sir Edward Heath in the early 1980s. After this he became a successful businessman in the corporate communications industry. He has also been company secretary of his family's retail stationery firm." [1]
