"John is a chartered civil engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers. Following graduation at Loughborough in Civil Engineering he joined a large international construction group. He spent 40years working for the same company. During that time he was CEO of Mowlem Plc for 10years and in addition to the construction activity, he oversaw a significant development of the Company's support services and PFI activities. He was knighted in 2003 for services to the construction industry.

"Subsequently he has been a non executive director of Heitons in Ireland and Thames Water, and Chair of a support services company. Today he chairs a private support services company operating in the rail maintenance arena.

"John chaired for 10years the IMCRC research group at Loughborough which began in 2001 and was the start of investment in rapid manufacturing, he has been on the estates committee since 2003 and chairs Imago. He has been a council member since 2007." [1]
