Biographical Information

"Sir Ian Robinson, B.Sc., FRENG served as Chief Executive of Scottish Power PLC from 1995 to 2001. Sir Robinson had wide experience in international engineering with Trafalgar House and John Brown. He serves as a Non-Executive Chairman of Scottish Enterprise, Investment Arm. He serves as the Non-Executive Group Chairman of AMEY PLC. He served as Chairman and Director of Ladbrokes Ltd. He served as Chairman of Ladbrokes PLC (formerly Hilton Group PLC) from October 1, 2001 to May 2009. He served as Deputy Chairman of Ladbrokes PLC since February 22, 2001. Sir Robinson has been Director of Amey PLC since February 2001. He serves as Director of Siemens Holdings plc and a member of the Takeover Panel. He is a member of the Take Over Panel, and a member of advisory boards for Siemens UK and CVC Private Equity. He has been a Non Executive Director of Compass Group plc since December 1, 2006. Sir Robinson served as Non Executive Director of Scottish & Newcastle UK Limited (Formerly, Scottish & Newcastle Plc) since October 1, 2004. He served as Non-Executive Director of Ladbrokes PLC from February 22, 2001 to May 2009. He served as Non-Executive Director of Asda plc. He served as Member of Advisory Board of CVC Capital Partners Ltd. He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers. He received his Knighthood in 2000 for services to the electricity industry. Sir Robinson holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from Leeds University and studied at Harvard Business School." [1]
