Sears Holdings Corporation is a large U.S. department store company formed by the 2005 merger of Sears, Roebuck and Co. and Kmart Holding Corporation. The stores still use the separate Sears and Kmart names. [1]

Edward S. Lampert, with a personal fortune of US$3.8 billion and a Skull and Bones member from Yale, controls ESL Investments which owns about 42% of Sears Holdings. [2]

Sears Holdings Corporation gave $326,500 to federal candidates in the 2006 election through its political action committee - 37% to Democrats and 63% to Republicans. [3]
