Roy Cordato is listed as Vice President for Research and Resident Scholar of the John Locke Foundation, a right-wing, free-market think tank in North Carolina.

Cordato was a Senior Economist at the Institute for Research on the Economics of Taxation (IRET) in Washington, DC from 1987 to 1993.
