Rohit Gupta (blogger)
Rohit Gupta is one of three "bloggers in Bombay [India, who] set up tsunamihelp.blogspot.com soon after the tsunami hit on Sunday, [December 26, 2004, in Sri Lanka] to form a clearinghouse for disaster relief. Three days later, the blog [had] 50 contributors and 100,000 visitors. The organizers [struggled] to keep up with growth and demand," Mitch Wagner reported December 29, 2004, for Security Pipeline.
Wagner wrote that "Gupta, 28, is a freelance writer who studied chemical engineering in college, who says he writes about a range of subjects from politics to science." Wagner described Gupta as an "experienced BlogSpot" user, as Gupta then ran five blogspots. [1]
When the tsunami struck, Gupta was editor for "a group blog called Dogs without Borders," the BBC's Clark Boyd reported December 30, 2004. "When he created it, the site was supposed to be a forum to discuss relations between India and Pakistan. ... But in the wake of Sunday's tsunami, Mr Gupta and his fellow bloggers switched gears."
Rohit Gupta is also a contributor from Mumbai, India, to the WorldChanging.com blog. [2] [3]
