Robert Kinloch Massie "has been working on issues of corporate governance and responsibility for two decades. Dr. Massie began working for the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Investigations and later for Ralph Nader's Congress Watch. An ordained Episcopal minister, Dr. Massie received his master's degree in social and theological ethics from Yale Divinity School in 1982 and his doctorate in business policy from Harvard Business School in 1989, where his research focused on the methods used by large institutional investors to make decisions about social issues.

"From 1989 to 1996 Dr. Massie taught at Harvard Divinity School where he ran the Project on Business, Values and the Economy. In 1993, as a senior Fulbright Scholar, he served for six months on the faculty of the University of Cape Town's Graduate School of Business. Dr. Massie's book, Loosing the Bonds: The United States and South Africa in the Apartheid Years, was published in 1998 by Doubleday and was awarded the 1998 Lionel Gelber Prize, the largest juried award of its kind in the world, for the best book on international relations.

"In 1994, Dr. Massie ran for lieutenant governor of Massachusetts and won the statewide Democratic primary. Dr. Massie is currently Executive Director of CERES (Coalition for Environmentally Responsible Economies), a national coalition of investors, public pension trustees, foundations, labor unions, and environmental, religious and public interest groups working in partnership with companies to encourage corporate social and environmental responsibility worldwide.

"From 1997 to 2002 he was the Founding Chair of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Steering Committee and is currently a member of GRI’s international board of directors." [1]
