René Médori "joined the Board of De Beers s.a. on 6th February 2007. He is currently Finance Director of Anglo American plc.

"He joined the Anglo American, and was appointed to the Board, on 1st June 2005, becoming finance director on 1st September, 2005. René Médori is a member of Exboard, chairman of the Investment Committee and a director of AngloGold Ashanti and DB Investments. Previously, René Médori became an executive director of The BOC Group in July 2000 having been appointed finance director the previous month. Immediately before that he had been chief financial officer for BOC Gases Americas and BOC Process Systems.

"He subsequently relocated with his family from the US to the UK. He joined BOC France in January 1988 and then held a variety of key financial appointments in BOC's health care business, Ohmeda, based in the US, becoming vice-president finance of Ohmeda in 1993. BOC disposed of the Ohmeda business in 1998. Prior to joining BOC, René worked in Paris for Schlumberger and Arthur Andersen Consulting. René holds a doctorate in economics and degrees in finance and economics from the Université de Paris-Dauphine, France. René was appointed a non-executive director of Scottish & Southern Energy plc in June 2003 and chairman of its audit committee the following year." [2]
