The Institute for the Study of Globalization and Covert Politics is a one man project that was founded in 2005 by Joel van der Reijden as the Project for the Exposure of Hidden Institutions, although in July 2008 he notes that "the site's name changed to Institute for the Study of Globalization and Covert Politics (ISGP) in an effort to make it sound a little less conspiratorial and reflect the serious nature of the site". [1] (The current version of the website has deleted the words "a little less conspiratorial and reflect the serious nature of the site" and substituted "in an effort to make it sound both better and more professional." [2])

The site has published a number of studies on unknown but apparently very influential organizations: the Pinay Cercle, the 1001 Club, the Anglo-American Pilgrims Society, etc. The site has also published on the Belgian X-Dossiers and related child abuse networks in which high profile people were allegedly involved.

The site has been supported in its work by a number of seasoned investigators and other volunteers.
