Biographical Information

"Michael J. Potter, a pioneer in the organic foods industry since 1969, is chairman and president of Eden Foods, the premier organic food manufacturer in the United States. He is a founder and managing director of American Soy Products, Inc., the largest processor of organically grown soybeans in the world. He was also a founder of the Soyfoods Association of America. He is the president of the Eden Organic Pasta Company and New Meridian, the cannery for Eden Organic beans. He has served as an Official Advisor to the Director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture on matters pertaining to organic food production. Over the years, he has developed personal contacts and relationships with organic farmers throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, Japan, Belgium, France, and the U.K. and been a leader in the campaign against genetically engineered food. He resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan, near his six children (two daughters, four sons) and two grandchildren."[1]
