Metal Storm Limited is a weapons manufacturer based in Brisbane, Australia. Among the various weapons it is working on, is a weapon that fires bullets at a high rate of speed, theoretically, more than a million bullets a minute. Multiple barrels are used and the bullets are stacked in each barrel one after another. The video shows prototypes firing for just a fraction of a second at high speeds. Video. [1]

Metal Storm Limited is "an electronic ballistics technology company based in Brisbane, Australia with an office in Washington DC in the United States. Established in 1994, the company owns the proprietary rights to revolutionary 100% electronic ballistics technology, which is being developed in collaboration with US and Australian defence bodies, and some of the world's leading scientific research organisations. The total of committed and proposed research and development funding of the technology by various government agencies exceeds AU$100 million.

In November 2007 it was reported that: "Metal Storm Limited (NASDAQ: MTSX) (ASX: MST) is pleased to announce that Metal Storm Inc has executed a Memorandum of Understanding with iRobot Corp. (NASDAQ: IRBT). The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration and outlines the companies' plans for the joint pursuit of opportunities within the Global Defense and Security sectors." [4]


Metal Storm spent $40,000 for lobbying in the U.S. in the first half of 2007. One lobbying firm was used - American Defense International. [5]
