Lucian W. Pye "was born in China, educated at Carleton College and Yale University, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. As MIT Ford Professor of Political Science Emeritus, he has also taught at Princeton, Yale, Washington University, the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, Columbia, and was a Visiting Distinguished Professor at the Elliott School of International Affairs of George Washington University in 1993. Pye has authored 25 books and hundreds of articles; his research interests focus on comparative political development, nation building, and political culture across Asia. He has received numerous professional awards and fellowships and served as President of the American Political Science Association in 1988-89." [1]
