Biographical Information

In May 2011 "After 25 years with her public relations firm, Robinson Lerer & Montgomery, Linda G. Robinson has left to join BlackRock as a senior managing director and the global head of marketing and communications. Ms. Robinson, a prominent fixture on Wall Street, has been a close adviser to several corporate chiefs on their communication strategy. Morgan Stanley‘s chairman, John J. Mack, has long been a client. She is no stranger to BlackRock. Ms. Robinson has been a director on the firm’s board since 2004 and has a long relationship with the firm’s chief executive, Laurence D. Fink. With her new role, she will step down from her board seat, according to an internal BlackRock memo obtained by DealBook. Ms. Robinson’s appointment is part of a bigger push by Mr. Fink to elevate the presence of the firm in the wake of BlackRock’s 2009 merger with Barclays Global Investors...

"Ms. Robinson founded R.L.M. in 1986 with Walter Montgomery, the firm’s chief executive. The firm, which is based in Manhattan and was later acquired by the Young & Rubicam Group in 2000, specializes in strategic communications services for a wide range of corporations and organizations, including banks, law firms, universities and nonprofit organizations.

"Before founding R.L.M., Ms. Robinson, a graduate of the University of Southern California, was a senior vice president at Warner Cable Communications and the director of public affairs for the Department of Transportation. Ms. Robinson makes an appearance in “Barbarians at the Gate,” the best-selling book on the 1988 takeover battle for RJR Nabisco." [1]
