The following are External Links related to John R. Bolton's March 7, 2005, nomination as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations by President George W. Bush. On August 1, 2005, because the U.S. Senate had failed to confirm his nominee, Bush appointed Bolton to the position. Bolton replaced John C. Danforth, who resigned November 22, 2004.
