John K. Jenkins, Sr. "is a member of the Board of Directors for the Institute for Global Engagement. He was licensed to preach at the age of 15, and was a pastor for three years before becoming the senior pastor at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden in 1989. In 2001, he received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Southern California School of Ministry in Inglewood, California. He preaches throughout the world and is Chairman to Project Bridges, a Trustee for Bethel University, Chairman Emeritus for Shabach! Ministries, Inc. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Great Dads, Greater Prince George's Business Roundtable, National Association of Evangelicals, Skinner Leadership Institute, Teen Challenge, Vision 360, and a local bank. He now resides in Landover Maryland with his wife, Trina, and family." [1]
