Biographical Information

"Mr. Welch became a senior CD&R advisor in 2001. He began his career with General Electric Company in 1960, and in 1981 became the company’s eighth Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. During his tenure, GE’s market capitalization increased by $400 billion, making it the world’s most valuable corporation. He serves on CD&R’s Screening Committee, which assesses new investments and participates in the Firm’s portfolio-company Operating Reviews. He has authored two best-selling books, Jack: Straight from the Gut and Winning. Mr. Welch holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Massachusetts and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois. "[1]
