Jock Forbes "is on the Steering Committee of the World Citizens Party for a Democratic World Government, on the Board of Directors of the Coalition for a Strong United Nations, and on the Advisory Council of the UNA of Greater Boston. Previously, Mr. Forbes was Executive Director of WFA of New England, co-founder and director of the Council for a Nuclear Weapons Freeze, founding member of the Cambridge Peace Commission, and member of the Peace & Social Concerns Committee for the Cambridge Friends Meeting. He was on the staff of the International Task Force, Nuclear Weapons Freeze Campaign, lobbying for the Campaign at the U.N. in 1982, and was a member of the Disarmament Action Network. Mr. Forbes served as the director of the Teachers' Center for Global Education at Harvard Education School and co-director of the Interstate Freeze Lobbying Network. He was also a member of the MA Department of Education's Citizenship Ed. Coordinating Committee on Global Education and director of teacher training clinics at Northeast Regional Conferences for the Social Studies. Mr. Forbes was Executive Director and board member of the UNA of Greater Boston and Massachusetts and a member of the National Finance Committee for McGovern for President. Mr. Forbes earned an A.B. from Harvard College, a C.A.S from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a M.S. form the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
