Biographical Information
"Mr. Jerry D. Horn serves as an Operating Partner at J.W. Childs Associates LP., J.W. Childs Equity Partners III, L.P., and J.W. Childs Equity Partners IV, L.P. Mr. Horn has been an Operating Partner of JW Childs Private Equity Fund since 1995. He serves as Principal of QSI Holdings, Inc. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Quality Stores Inc. since November 2000. From 1985 to 1991, Mr. Horn served as President and Chief Executive Officer of General Nutrition Companies Inc. ("GNC"), the country's leading specialty retailer of vitamins and food supplements, where he orchestrated a turnaround at General Nutrition Companies Inc. and designed and implemented the strategy that led to GNC's current success. In 1989, he organized the buyout of GNC with THL and took its public in 1993. From 1959 to 1979, Mr. Horn held various Executive Positions with Sears, Roebuck & Co. From September 1979 to April 1983, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Recreational Equipment Inc., a Seattle-based specialty retailer. From April 1983, Mr. Horn served as President and from April 1994 to May 1995, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Thousand Trails Inc. Mr. Horn served as Chief Executive Officer of General Nutrition, Inc. ("GNI") from May 1985 to December 1990 and also served as President of GNI from May 1985 to September 1988. Mr. Horn serves as Chairman of Chevys Inc., and Nutra Manufacturing, Inc. He served as Chairman of Quality Stores Inc. He served as Chairman of the Board of General Nutrition Companies Inc. since October 1991 and from 1985 until it was sold in 1999, was its Director. Mr. Horn served as Chairman of the Board of General Nutrition Inc. ("GNI") since November 1985. Mr. Horn serves as a Director of CT Farm & Country Inc. and Cinnabon Inc. He served as Director of Thane International Inc. since September 2002. He served as a Director of Universal Hospital Services Inc. Mr. Horn holds a B.S. degree from Drake University." [1]
