Jackson Tai was appointed to the Board of HSBC Holdings "on 12 September 2016. He is a skilled international non-executive Director with experience in senior operating and governance roles across Asia and China, as well as North America and Europe.

"Mr Tai was formerly Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of DBS Group and DBS Bank Ltd. between 2002 and 2007, having served the Group as Chief Financial Officer in 1999 and then as President and Chief Operating Officer in 2001. He previously worked at JP Morgan & Co. Incorporated, between 1974 and 1999, as an investment banker in New York, Tokyo, and San Francisco.

"Mr Tai currently serves as a non-executive Director of Eli Lilly and Company and MasterCard Incorporated.

"Previously, Mr Tai was non-executive Director of Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Royal Philips NV, Bank of China Limited, Singapore Airlines, NYSE Euronext, ING Groep NV, CapitaLand Ltd, SingTel Ltd. and Jones Lang LaSalle Inc. Mr Tai also served as Vice-Chairman of Islamic Bank of Asia.

"Mr Tai holds an MBA from Harvard University and a BS from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute."[1]
