J. W. (Billy) Groome worked for Brown & Williamson in the M Department as Brand Manager and Assistant Manager--Raleigh, Belair, SWR, Tube, Rose, New Product Development-Smoking Tobacco in 1967. Groome was Brand Manager--Kool, Hallmark, Laredo, Long Cut in 1968, Brand Manager--Kool, duMaurier, Laredo, Lyme Menthol, Long Cut in 1970, Brand Manager--Kool, Laredo, Lyme from 1971-72, and Brand Manager--Viceroy, Pipe Tobacco, Chewing Tobacco, Long Cut, Snuff in 1973. Groome was also Product Development Committee Secretary, Assistant Advertising Manager, and on the Marketing Committee in 1973. He also was Director of Advertising & Brand Management from 1973-76, on Special Assignment in 1977, and Assistant Brand Manager in 1966.
