Dr. Ismail Serageldin "is the Director of the Library of Alexandria, and Professor at Wageningen University, the Netherlands. He is a member of many Academic and Research bodies and serves on advisory committees for International Institutions and Civil Society organizations. He was formerly Vice-President of the World Bank for Environmentally Sustainable Development and Chairman of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) at the World Bank. He joined the Bank in 1972 where he designed and managed a broad array of poverty-focused projects in developing countries." [1]
