Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture
The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture is the agricultural organization within the Organization of American States (OAS). It was founded as the Inter-American Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IICA) in 1942 and, for many decades, focused on the "modernization" of agriculture and on promoting trade. Today, IICA is committed to "the sustainable development of agriculture, food security throughout the hemisphere, and prosperity in the rural communities of the Americas."
