Global Advisory Council on Balanced Lifestyles
The Global Advisory Council on Balanced Lifestyles is the industry-created advisory council for the McDonald's Corporation. Established in May 2003, the fourteen members of the committee include the former director of the U.S. Health and Human Services, Louis Sullivan and are rewarded with an annual fee of $7,500 for their advice. In addition to the council, McDonald's has also enlisted the help of Dr. Dean Ornish, an MD best known for promoting a low-fat, mostly vegetarian diet.
