Geneviève R. Painter – Interim Executive Director of the McGill Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism.

"Ms Painter spent several years working with non-governmental organisations in London, UK. She acted as Advocacy and Policy Manager for WOMANKIND Worldwide, one of the leading women’s human rights and development organisations. Also in London, she was the Gender Policy Officer for One World Action and worked as a researcher for the Gender and Development Network. Ms Painter later was an advocate for Human Rights Watch, first in their New York Office and then in Brussels, focussing on war crimes and gender violence in armed conflict. Until recently, she worked for the law firm of Dionne, Gertler, Schulze in Montreal. Ms Painter holds a BCL/LLB with great distinction from the Faculty of Law of McGill University and a B.A. (Hons.) magna cum laude in international relations from Wellesley College (Massachusetts). Ms Painter is a member of the Quebec Bar." [1]
